For an extra bonus drawing for a $50 prize pack- leave a comment at Danni Reid’s link including a link where you have facebooked, blogged or tweeted about this hop- you can leave up to three comments for a shot at that $50 prize pack!

Back To School With The Stubby Pencil Studio!

stubby pencil

It is that time again! I must admit, the approach of autumn sends me into a little fit of pen and paper pleasure as I contemplate new school supplies. We always try to get at least a few extra special tools as we stock the kids’ backpacks, and Stubby Pencil Studio is an awesome place to do just that! They specialize in eco-friendly art and school supplies. We have been ordering from them for four years, and we have never been disappointed!

Our most recent box showed up two days ago and the kids dived into it before we had even gotten home from the post box! The kids quickly took over the dining room table to divvy up the goodies and get creating.Gabe was very excited for his chubby markers and foam sea stamps. Both of these are VERY washable, so I can let him go crazy and have as much fun as he wants without worrying about a ruined table or shirt.

The kids were all very excited for their new school supplies. Eco-friendly colored pencils for Jonas, quality watercolors for Maggie, scissors, spelling practice sheets, cute pencils and sharpeners. The notebooks in the picture above are actually *my* back to school treat. If you haven’t tried banana paper notebooks yet, you are totally missing out. Banana paper is soft and supple and takes ink beautifully. They are my absolute top choice for writing paper- and people, I know my paper!

These are Maggie’s school watercolors. I’m a big believer in kids having quality art supplies. Any artist will tell you that the medium she has to work with makes a big difference- and that is just as true for kids. The great thing about this particular set is that you can also get replacement pots of paint.

Fun for all ages.

You’ve got to check out these darling crayon earth worms. They were a huge hit with my kids and amusing for me since they come in a can, and you get to “open a can of worms”.

They also have these adorable Japanese erasers. They are tiny little eraser puzzles. Maggie is in love with these- she has been taking apart and reassembling her unicorn and cat. Jonas got the hedgehog and dinosaur. . .and I got myself a giraffe, 3 kokeshi dolls, frog, elephant, hamster, frog, koala. . .I’m a sucker for cute and these are an inexpensive treat.

We have a sweet little goodie basket here for one lucky Life as Lou reader. If you would like to win the basket of school supplies (shown at the top) then leave me a message here! If you want two entries, go “like” their facebook page. It’s worth it – you’ll see all the new arrivals and get special coupon codes! (Leave two comments after you like the facebook page).
